Quote for spray painting kitchen

Hi
I have a medium sized kitchen. Just got a quote for spray painting the current old cupboards, plinths, sides of £2k.
They sand everything down, take the cupboard and drawer fronts to their factory, then prime and spraypaint all the non remove able items, then work on the drawers and cupboards in their factory. They then come back and refit everything a few days later.
My cupboards are proper real wood so I'm reluctant to replace with cheap new fronts.
I cannot find another local company to do this so I'm struggling to know whether this is a good price, and whether it's a good idea to do.
Any thoughts welcome

The last kitchen I made the spraying cost me £800 +vat. I had to deliver the units to the sprayers and I fitted the kitchen. Is it just doors, drawer fronts, end standards, plinths and cornices?
Is this an on-site spray job? If so it sounds high to me and they will have problems with overspray in the room.0 -
They are doing the sides, cornices and plinths on site then taking away all the drawers and doors to sand, prime and coat with lacquer paint.
I appreciate your input leveller. If you don't mind me asking was the spraypainting a success? I'm thinking of price being high as well as wondering whether the paint will flake off. I'm assured not by the guy doing the job, but then he would assure me.
£2k is a lot, but my kitchen is old and I can't afford over £10k for a new one. I am unable to find someone else locally who does this to be able to compare.0 -

My sprayers did 1 coat primer,3 coats of top coat. Its hard wearing but at the end of the da its a painted finish. You can ask for any grade of shine from 10% which will be a matt finish up to say 70% which would be a satin finish 100% would be a gloss. You need some samples done to be able to decide on shine.
The paint should not flake off as long as the surface is "keyed" correctly but I'm no expert on the sraying side of kitchens. With a spray finish you really don't want any sharp edges on the doors/drawer fronts etc as the paint won't adhere to the sharp edges. If they are using HVLP sprayer on site there will be a lot of overspray if they use a Airless spray pump there will be little overspray but the finish won't be as good as HVLP. Theres a 3rd type which is Air assisted airless which is very good but again you will get overspray but a better finish than an airless paint spraying set up.
All new drawer runners/hinges included in the quote? How many drawer fronts, doors etc are there?.0 -

Thanks for all the info, much appreciated.
Existing hinges will be used and no drawer runners would be extra as he cannot source mine as they are apparently too old. There 8 drawer fronts and 15 doors, fully surrounded by plinths, cornices plus 4 alcoves and 2 open cupboards. I have to source the handles but they will fix them (and take old ones off and make good the holes).
I'm not sure on the type of sprayer used, I'll need to find out.
The guy said his standard spray is 20% gloss, so a satin finish and I saw a sample that looked ok. The finish is all I'm worried about, I.e. No flaking, looks ok, keep me going for at least 5 years (by then I'll have moved).
I have oak doors and he said sanded down they should come up well. The trouble is I won't know until it's done for sure.
If only kitchens didn't cost so much to replace!0 -
Oak doors will take a spray finish well. The quote does seem high to me and it should be possible to find hinges that will fit.Drawer runners may be a problem but without more info its impossible to say.
Spending £2k on spraying an existing kitchen without new hinges/drawer runners may not be value for money in the long run.0
