Rising 16 form

Hi,
My son recently turned 16 and I was informed by the dla that it had been extended to feb 2015, because of pip not being in my area yet.
I recieved a rising16 form2 weeks ago asking me to fill it in by 1st April, the form goes on to say in the care section you do not need to answer questions 37 to 56 if You do not want to claim with personal care or You have claimed for help with personal care and nothing has changed.
So do I leave it blank or fill it I in ?
The front of the form says looking again at a claim fora person aged 16 or over and
has a label on saying rising 16s B309.
Sorry if I sound vague in my question but I am extremely condused by what the DLA are saying to my son.
Many thanks:)

So do I leave it blank or fill it I in ? If your son has care needs that haven't changed since your last DLA questionnaire and award then you leave it blank. If there has been a change, or if you haven't claimed for care needs then you fill it in.

Please see above - it is dependent if your child has a DLA award for care currently.0 -
If you don't fill in the bit for care on the basis that his care needs haven't changed, they may take this as he has no care needs.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

Hi DomRavioli, so if I am reading it correctly because my son is currently recieving higher rate care and there has been no changes I can juat leave it blank and say on the form no change to report?
Sorry to be so vague but i find these forms a nightmare to fill in at the best of times and I just assumed as soon as my son reached 16 he would straight away be able to apply for PIP, not realising the apparent shambles at the moment with dla going over to PIP, which is why I suppose I received the rising 16 form.
Thank you again and thank you as well IndieKid.0 -
Hi OP,
Personally I would fill in the care bit; but it seems from what you put that you don't need to if he doesn't need to be re-assessed; I would also call them to clarify it as you don't want to naff it up (I went through 4 claim forms before I got it right!)
Hope that helps a bit0 -
Hi DomRavioli,
Thank you for reply, I think I will just leave the care section blank and hopefully thry will just leave it as it till feb 2015, I did call DLA but they was' nt sure themselves !! Thanks again.:)0
