When to switch to avoid exit fee?
Currently on Southern Electric discount energy bonus 2015. Tariff has exit fee of £50 before 1st April 2014. I want to switch to Ovo. If I start the switch now will I have to pay the exit fee? If so, do I need to wait until 1 April or can it be done sooner?
Thanks for any advice on this

No, a switch takes 4-5 weeks, so start it now-you'll probably now have 2-3 weeks on Standard tariff in the interval after 1/4.
Your contract ends when you go on supply with Ovo, not when you apply. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

Ok will do, thanks for this. Was just worried I may get stung by the exit fee. Southern Electric say as long as they receive my switch notification from Ovo within 20 days of the discount ending then my final bill will be calculated on the old lower price.0
