Multi purpose printers in the office

Hi
I work in a large office where all the printers are networked and you can, print, scan or copy on them. We have an id badge which we press on the side of the printer and it days welcome pickle etc and retrieves your documents to print.
I have tried to scan a personal document so that I could email it on and it didn't work, it looked as though it had scanned but normally it emails me with my copy and it didn't. it's that long since I used the scanning facility. I have now been shown but wondered what would happen to my personal document that I didn't received. would it go to the person who logged on to the printer previously (that's what a colleague said) or would it just go into the abyss?
I know I shouldn't have used it for personal use - lesson learnt! But does anyone know?
Many thanks

I would have thought that the answer would be printer-dependent.0

If the person who used it before you had logged out like you are supposed to, I can't see why it would go to them. If they were still logged in though, it probably did.

usually,
When you swipe in the printer pulls down your jobs but also populates your email scanning address so you can only email/scan to yourself
your email may have been deleted - do your copiers have the ability to scan to a usb stick?0 -
Hi
Thanks everyone,
The person before me had logged out because when I logged in it said welcome pickle etc ( but apparently, you are supposed to press the scan button before you log in, then log in, scan and log out again - which is why I am worried!)
We don't have ability to scan to a USB stick
Many thanks to each of you, I will email ICT tomorrow and ask but I was worried and didn't really want to ask if I didn't need to!
