Hi all
Just after a bit of advice. We receive a small amount of HB, £20 per week. Now from 1st April I am getting a £25 per week pay rise and OH an extra £10, so 65% of £35 means HB will cease. What I want to do is write to the council asking them to stop HB from 1st April as if I wait until I get my next two payslips I will be getting an overpayment request. Will they just allow me to write and cancel or will I have to wait for them to prove I no longer qualify.

Your Applicable Amount - the amount the Government says you need to live on for basic living also increases in April and your Local Housing Allowance might also increase in April so I would just send in a change of circumstances advising of the pay increase and proof once available to see if you still qualify.These are my own views and you should seek advice from your local Benefits Department or CAB.0
