Energy contracts all change? - new core four
I've just read in the Mature Times a free newspaper March 2014 an article by Mervyn Kohler Age UK'S external affairs division. It relates to the new government strategy to limit providers to just four tariffs in the coming months, we all have to pay attention to communications from our energy supplier, if your are not on one of the new core four, your supplier will automatically switch you onto one of their choice by default if you do not contact them. Is your energy contract one of the core four? If not check all energy supplier correspondance over the coming months or you could pay over the odds on
a new tariff that doesn't work for you.

But will it stop them juggling tariffs and calling them different names.
If they have four current tariffs and they are only available for a month until they change the name, price or conditions, they could still end up with 48 different tariffs a year but only four available at any one time.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0 -
Is it titled 'Mature' Times because it only publishes stories that are several months old?0

Just picked up a copy from my local library today - maybe Mervyn Kohler from Age UK has got it wrong, and will update in the next issue - time will tell!0 -

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-26566667"In spite of Ofgem's tariff reforms to simplify the market, consumers are still failing to spot the cheapest deal because energy pricing remains too complicated," said Richard Lloyd, the executive director of Which?
The consumer group would like to see a single flat rate for energy, as happens with the price of petrol.0
