why would anyone buy from Play when you can get for a third of the price from expansys?0 -
Hi, bit of confusion surrounding this device:
1. It is NOT a mobile phone, never will be and cannot be used as such
2. It is possible to download software to use it as a Sat Nav however you will also need to buy a bluetooth GPS device (about 30quid on ebay)
3. It is primarily a portable way to browse the internet via a wireless network (in the house or via WIFI out and about).
4. It can play video with downloaded software but its memory is not great (i think 128mb built in but can be expanded to 2GB with a micro memory card and latest firmware)
5. Everywhere is selling these massively reduced as they are quite a niche device which could be seen as very useful to some and utterly pointless to others! The sat nav is a real bonus but a bit of a pain having to marry it up with the GPS device in the car!0 -
Play.com are now not fulfilling their orders - so use expansys instead!0

A friend mentioned to me that it might be possible to hook up a 6GB "matchbox" memory drive, load it with films and use it as a replacement for a portable DVD player- handy for keeping the kids quiet on long journeys (and they'd be listening on headphones).
Would I be right in thinking that this would be pretty useful for Tmobile customers who have web'n'walk as they could use a bluetooth hook up with the N770 and browse the internet on an internet friendly device?
Also, a bit of a long shot this one but, could it in theory be used in French McDonalds where free wifi seems to be "order of the day" - geddit?
croboy,
could it not be used as a "phone" with a suitable VOIP package?...and then the window licker said to me...0 -
I think it would be slow over bluetooth.
The free wifi hotspots are an ideal use for it.0 -
If you search for Navicore Personal on ebay it is being sold with a bluetooth GPS receiver for £40 "buy it now"... Not a bad price for satnav....and then the window licker said to me...0
