I won this comp too on Tueday 25th Feb - it said at time it was a comp to win a bottle of champagne for the weekend! BUT I actually live in Burton - my twitter and fb profile shows this too, I was asked to message them on fb to claim my prize which I did, sent them a nice message saying thank you and I was real chuffed to have won...... I only entered it because I was actually going to be in town that Saturday night as it was my husbands birthday - perfect!
I got no answer to my pm on fb whatsoever... I then messaged them again on the Friday hoping they would reply before Saturday night, but NOTHING again!!! disgusting!! I don't understand why they offering prizes and then just ignoring winners... and especially as I live in burton so they not exactly ignoring me because I am not local! (not that they have an excuse to ignore non local winners!)
Im not going to pursue it simply because they are not worth my time, and I wont be going to their club now again - ive been there several times before... they not getting any more of my money again!

Why did you not go in the club and collect it?I presume they would only need your twitter ID.
  • I wouldn't have just gone in on a Saturday night asking for my champagne prize... who knows who is actually running the comps.. if I tried to ask any staff they prob wouldn't have known what I was talking about and I wouldn't fancy making an idiot out of myself! lol I would have expected a reply to my pm on how I should claim it - they told me to pm them then just ignored me when I did - they clearly don't want to actually give away any prizes do they! ah well....
April 2014: A CAR!!!!!! :j 60th Anniversary Edition of Playboy mag signed by Hugh Hefner/Family pass to Twinlakes Family Theme Park/Rio 2 Goodies/£15 Promod Voucher/Nivea Sensitive Prize pack/John Frieda Cosmetic bag and bits/Tickets to New Kids On The Block + Meet and Greet
  • The competition I entered was previous. I made the point that they specifically stated in later prizes that the competition was to collect from the club, whereas my competition had ended and I had been informed I was a winner before any tweets regarding the location of the prize...

    1) Should I message them and send them the link to this thread?

    2) Should we add them to the banned/spam list?

    What do peeps think?

Not that I've had any contact with them, but I'd say no to the above questions.

    1. I never like the idea of drawing "outside parties" into threads on here, it makes me feel like we'd be spied on! I know that's daft as it's a publicly viewable forum, but I'd prefer to keep companies out of it.

    2. I wouldn't ban their comps, and they aren't really spammers, but what might be an idea is if anyone lists a future competition of theirs, they could link to this thread or make a note that prizes are likely to have to be collected in the club itself.

    Just my opinion :)

  • Sorry to bump this again, but had a chat with the ASA the other day to send across all the evidence I have (screenshots, conversations with their manager, T&C's (or lack of) etc) and they seemed genuinely interested and like there could be a case there...

Anyone had any experience with the ASA and how long they take to respond to claims etc?
