Guys, just to let you know. I got a direct Twitter message on 25th Feb from them saying:

"Congratulations youve won...please message me on assoc burton facebook to claim your prize "

After hunting here, I was fairly sure it was to win a bottle of champagne.

I messaged them on FB as they asked, and sent my details. I heard nothing more from them. Over the last week or so I've been asking them via FB and Twitter if they could let me know when to expect my prize. They deleted my FB messages, and didn't respond. Eventually I got from them, "The comp was not a postal one and you have to attend the venue to claim your blt of bubbly."

I may or may not take it any further, but I wanted to let you know, because I certainly won't be entering their comps again.

I had the same thing it was having to attend the venue on a certain day with a minimum of 5 friends i think then they give u your free bubbly!

I have also made a point to unfollow them.

They are a nightclub/bar so unless they actually stated prizes would be delivered I would expect it to be collection only as is quite often the case with clubs/pubs/cafes etc.

Thnx mjm. That really does make a difference. I feel less cheated knowing they are a night club. I guess we probably won a glass of champagne at the venue then. I wish they had said so in their message, but then again, they don't know that people enter from comp sites. They may have assumed entries would be from people who use their club.

I had the exact same issue, but due to the sheer rudeness and attitude of their manager, I reported it to the IPM who have forwarded it on to the ASA.

Their manager told me I was a liar, deleted their tweets, removes their Facebook page and told me I was stupid for entering and would be getting nothing from them...

I suggest you take it further as I find it disgusting the way they acted.

Just my opinion though.

Ouch! Not nice. I also didn't like the way they ignored and deleted my FB messages, but TBH, I don't think I will take it further - forgive me. I agree they haven't got the best attitude, but I think it's probably one to chalk to experience.

Hopefully the three of us will win something nice and boozy soon, to make up for it

If they didn't give any t&c's stating that requirement then they need reporting.

If they have such a poor attitude on social media, I dread to think how they treat their customers face to face...

They made it clear on their twitter feed on 25th Feb that the prize was collection only.

30 minutes between the competition post and the collection terms will have meant quite a few entering who didn't qualify.

They did "qualify", no restriction was added about where you could enter from they were only making it clear that you were required to collect the prize from the nightclub offering it - although I don't think at any point they had said the prize would be delivered anyway.

Perhaps they didn't realise they could charge for delivery so there would have been no extra cost to them of sending the house plonk out to winners who did not want to collect.

I won this comp too on Tueday 25th Feb - it said at time it was a comp to win a bottle of champagne for the weekend! BUT I actually live in Burton - my twitter and fb profile shows this too, I was asked to message them on fb to claim my prize which I did, sent them a nice message saying thank you and I was real chuffed to have won...... I only entered it because I was actually going to be in town that Saturday night as it was my husbands birthday - perfect!
I got no answer to my pm on fb whatsoever... I then messaged them again on the Friday hoping they would reply before Saturday night, but NOTHING again!!! disgusting!! I don't understand why they offering prizes and then just ignoring winners... and especially as I live in burton so they not exactly ignoring me because I am not local! (not that they have an excuse to ignore non local winners!)
Im not going to pursue it simply because they are not worth my time, and I wont be going to their club now again - ive been there several times before... they not getting any more of my money again! :mad:
