Income Support and Work-Focused Interview

I have been on Income Support and CTC for four months (I have a 2 and a half year old child that I am the sole carer of.) I have been sent a letter to attend a Work-Focused interview. I am wondering if anyone knows how often I will be expected to attend work based interviews? I ask this as I am looking at asking my mum to have my toddler whilst at the interview and would like to pre-warn her if it is a fortnightly/monthly occurrence.

If your child is under 5 and you are on income support, I didn't think you had to look for work. Once they are 5, you will have to come off Income Support. This is my understanding.

They are approximately every 6 months, and even though you are not required to look for work, you do still have to attend. My cousin is on a career break from work (in a central Government Department) after having her daughter - has proof that she has a job to go back to and a return date - yet still has to attend WFI. In her case, they tend to last 10-15 minutes and all agree it is pointless in her case, but she still has to go.
