CHANGES to Limit- No longer possible to open 2 x SINGLE name Santander 123 Accounts?

Can't see another post about this, but if there is, apologies in advance for duplicating.
As far as I can see, the previous condition of:
"Limit of two 123 Current Accounts per person in either joint or single names."
which would allow for one person to hold two accounts in their single name, has now been replaced, possibly from 10th March, by:
One single or one joint 123 Current Account (or one of each) per person only.
so this is no longer possible, and one person can now only open two accounts if one of such is in joint names.

Hate to say you didn't do a very good search this has been the case for over a year now, and there have been quite a few forum posts about this already!!!Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:0 -

I don't think so, the restriction on one of two accounts needing to be a joint one is very new.0 -

If this is the case, then 'guilty as charged', however, I was basing the 'news' on having been using the www.santander123.co.uk page over this past week, which gave the previous condition (and using Google's cache of http://www.santander123.co.uk/, their snapshot of the page as it appeared on 9 Mar 2014 13:35:00 GMT still gave the previous condition).
On visiting the current page today, however, it now says 'Information correct as at 10 March 2014', and the one difference I noticed, albeit there may be others, was that the previous condition had been changed.butterfly )i(0 -
Yes this is a new term, saw it alluded to in a recent MSE article/blog/email. Will have to update the advice we give others.0

Well I've opened two sole named accounts for my mum in the last five weeks. No problems then......under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0

Just had a Savings Champion email which states:
Santander has reduced the number of 123 current accounts (paying 3% AER) that can be opened. They have introduced a new restriction that the second account must be in joint names, therefore for new customers a single person can now only have 1 account rather than 2 and a couple can only have 3 accounts rather than 4.

Nuts. I always quite liked the idea of a fourth 123 account being an option if the the likes of the Vantage accounts suddenly dried up.0

Looks like, maybe, for 'Select' customers, they either didn't change the limit or didn't update the website:
http://www.santanderselect.co.uk/current-accounts.htmlLimit of two 123 Current Accounts per person in any combination of single or joint names.butterfly )i(0
