Sometime ago I order a sofa including delivery to my home address, the first Sofa to be delivery was immediately rejected due to damage. A second sofa was delivery to my home and again immediately sent back due to damage to a leg and manufacturing imperfections in the material.
I am still waiting for a full refund of my money and the company in question are attempting to deduct the delivery costs to my home and the courier costs back to the manufacturer.

I need help and advice on how to expedite the full refund of my money, £1325. So far I have accrued £80 interest in Credit Card charges and had to take 1 day’s holiday and missed out of ½ days overtime to be in for the two deliveries.

I have written to the sales women asking for the name, address and phone number of the Managing Director of company in question. I have also asked for the name and phone number of the person dealing with my refund. To date my requests have been ignored.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

First iff have a look at this: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/shopping/consumer-rights-refunds-exchan
Second. If tyhat fails to work take them to court. You paid for a certain standard of sofa - you didnt get it. Therefore they have to refund you. Simple asDebts: Gym £[strike]465.75[/strike] Student account [strike]£1039.88[/strike] Overdraft [strike]£129.00[/strike] Credit Card [strike]£2772.22[/strike] Loan [strike]£6222.01 [/strike]
Total £10628.86
All paid off! 10/03/2009 :j0 -
not sure if this is covered by the distance selling regulations, but if it is they only have 30 days to refund your money. Otherwise under the sale of goods act you can reject goods 'within a reasonable time' for a full refund (if faulty). So they should issue a full refund.
I would contact both the company in question and whoever is providing the credit (as they will also be liable under section 75 of the consumer credit act) and state that you want a refund within 14 days, failing that you will begin legal action (which may incurr further costs) to reclaim your money.
If they're still playing silly beggars send a final letter requesting your refund again 14 days time period and if they don't respond/repay within that time apply to the small claims court naming both the company and the credit company as the defendants.0 -
You might want to find out what their actual complaints procedure is. Everyone wants to speak to the ceo or managing director but that isn't their job, that could be why you've been ignored.0

Ring up your credit card company. Tell them to issue a chargeback. The sofa company and the credit card company can then sort it out between them0
