two elec meters,two standing charges?

Im hoping someone on here knows for sure as my supplier fobbed me off and said the standing charge covers upkeep of meter therefore as we had two electric meters at our old rented property we were charged two standing charges. Is this correct as £70 odd quid a year per meter for upkeep seems a tad excessive to me!
It only came to light as we've had so many problems with our final bill that ive spent months and months trying to sort out.

If you have something like E10 / Heatwise / TotalControl or such then yes you have 2 supplies and get charged 2 standing charges. I think the real reason for the 2 charges is because they can !

If you have two different mpans, yes two standing charges but not if they are an eco 7 two meter set up with a single mpan.

So OP, what was the metering system?

Ok it was in Scotland if that makes any difference. Was economy 10 we were on, so both meters had an off peak and standard reading on them. All were on same bill so wasnt billed separately for the twometers.
