Pet plan cancelled insurance. Will anyone else insure me?

A few weeks ago pet plan cancelled the insurance for our dog because our debit card had changed and because we were away we weren't around to update it in time. Anyway, when I've been looking for new quotes Insurers all seem to insist that I haven't had a policy that has been cancelled or voided before. I assume that my situation means that I don't meet such conditions. I'm going to ring around tomorrow to clarify what they mean but I don't feel optimistic
. Will it be impossible for me to insure my dog again now?

Insurers will ask if another insurer has cancelled a policy.
If it was simply the case that your debit card details had changed could you not give PetPlan the new card details?
If it's the case the your policy has lapsed at renewal date then you have no problem regarding declaring a policy "cancelled" - there is no need to declare this.
Did you have a "continuous payment authority" with PetPlan to allow them to take payments from the card?
Usually cpa's will transfer automatically to a new card but there may have been an error that you could take up with the bank.
If it has simply been a banking issue then you should be able to get cover, although you might have to ring insurers rather than taking the policy online.0
