Zero hours contract but I am now in hospital

Hi,
I've not been very well for the last 8 weeks but have muddled along but I am now in hospital for an indeterminate period of time. I have lost a significant proportion of my vision and most of the strength in my left side and some in my right side.
I am basically in no fit state to work at the moment, especially in my industry. I am waiting on seeing a physio who will hopefully help me regain my strength but I really have no idea how long I am looking at.
I am on a zero hours contract so unable to claim SSP and I am panicking... I've lost a weeks wages already and now I have no idea how I will pay my rent or bills
I am meant to get student finance but have not had it in January or due any in April because of numerous errors on SLC's part but I know just the fact I am meant to have the income whether or not I receive it means I will not qualify for any state benefits.
I currently have £30.70 child benefit and DLA £400 every 4 weeks coming in. I do not get any housing benefit and my rent is £100 a week, and I really don't know what to do!
Any advice or suggestions gratefully received I feel absolutely lost stuck in a hospital bed unable to do anything.

not currently as ive had to reapply for tax credits so I am only getting child benefit, wages and DLA but now there is no wages either. I do have a small buffer that will hopefully scrape us through March but beyond that I don't know.0

Not yet I only came got sent home from work on Friday and admitted into hospital yesterday. It is my days to work Thursday AM-PM ,Friday PM, Friday Nights and Saturday AM. So far I have missed my Friday night sit last week and will miss the whole lot this week. My partner is going to ring and speak to them tomorrow but I think I am a worker not an employee so didn't think we qualified for SSP, when I have been off sick before I was never paid any sick leave.0
