Yes I have legal cover. I had already spoken with a solicitor who told me that i would receive 100% of any awarded compensation as they would use the legal cover to claim their fees otherwise 25 percent. The Other thing that swigs me towards a solicitor is the £1500 cash advance which to be honest will come in handy now with at least two weeks of no wage coming in due to me being self employed

What has happened with the salvage? Have they deducted this from the settlement? Could this be why the figure they've given you is lower than the purchase price?

Incidentally, I'd go with a solicitor as well for personal injury - bear in mind though you're likely to have a very difficult argument with self employment earnings - you will need to be able to prove your loss and they will want detailed documentary evidence to support it. A solicitor is probably best to deal with this for you.

I'm buying the salvage back but this has nothing to do with the payout. I have two seperate figures one with them keeping the salvage one with me buying it back. I agree re the solicitor now especially with proving my earnings etc. Will make the pi handlers day in the morning and ring him...
Then again I don't suppose it will make that much difference to him anyway he's prob got loads of files to handle the odd one going to a solicitor is hardly going to bother him
