  • The only problem with flats is that you have no control whatsoever over noise. If you are on the ground floor it is worse by far than being on the top.

You are only ok if you have good neighbours :(

All of which apply to flats on other floors too!

Have to keep curtains shut unless you want people peeking through your windows, or conversely, you have to put up with seeing people wander around, could be distracting I guess.

Also you don't benefit from the "free" heating that rises from the floor below as you'll be the one providing that heat.

I quite enjoy living on the 1st floor, only really had to turn the heating on when downstairs went on holiday for a couple of weeks :)
*Assuming you're in England or Wales.

It's lucky most houses don't have a ground floor ;-)

Just joking, I know flats are often more public.

But the OP would, so not really sure of the point of your posts on this thread. Many people do live in flats, and enjoy them.

    As pointless as your post...

At least post #4 actually asked me something ;)

I had no issue with my communal garden until my cat died and I asked if I could bury it there.... Suffice to say the request didn't go down well :-)

Though why anyone in their right mind would offer on a ground floor flat is beyond me!

You did specify ground floor in your post.
    It's someone else's fault.
