If we are voting - why do we all have to vote for the same person ?

I suppose it's because in return for voting for Nicola they are offering the prize. It's a bit of a cheat in a way but I bet lots of companies do it.

The winner is decided based on a 50/50 split between the professional judges' votes, and the public vote.

I received this email too, and it felt a bit unethical to be honest - there's a huge difference between advertising some awards you're nominated for, and awarding a prize for people who take the time to vote for anyone, but to award a prize for voting for one person. Well, it just feels a bit sordid and undemocratic. If I was her, I'm not sure I'd want to win, if my votes were effectively bought by holding a competition....

ETA - this was nothing against you posting it, whizzybop! :o Was just commenting on the general situation
