Front Door Paint

We are looking to install a new wooden front door soon which will obviously require painting. Our house faces almost exactly south so the front of the house gets a lot of sunshine (well as much as the UK gets!!). We quite like the look of Farrow & Ball 'Railings' but I've read bad reviews of people who have used F&B on sunny front doors where it has faded etc.
Can anyone recommend a good exterior wood paint that comes in a charcoal/dark grey colour that won't fade immediately? Not too worried about the finish.

the trouble with painting a door that gets sun a dark shade is that the door will get very hot , bedec msp would be a good paint as it's highly flexible and resistant to cracking and peeling .it's water based, nwwds no primer or undercoat . but if you do use it follow instructions for a thinned coat to prime wood
i have used this on a lot of wood that has been previously stained , it has on the whole performed very well0 -
Hello
Ive just painted my front door in johnstones Aqua water based gloss in Farrow and Ball "Plummet" which is a lovely grey colour.
This was mixed up for me by my local decorators warehouse and cost £20 for a litre, they asked what colour I wanted and when I said F&B they pulled out their little book and found the correct code.
Being a water based gloss it dries very quickly, no nasty smell and shouldnt fade. May be an idea?0 -

do any of you guys know whether there is actually any benefit to using a proper F&B paint as opposed to a colour match? the guyy at the paintshop started telling me F&B use more pigment than other companies...but is he saying that so that I uy a more expensive product???0

apart from being extortionately expensive , there is no benefit in using f&b paint over a dulux colour scan version ,
some people will swear blind that they can tell the difference and love the chalky feel over the emulsion , but i think they are only trying to kid themselves to justify buying a 5ltr can for £80 when a dulux/johnsones would only cost £40 ,so that should make f&b paint twice as good ,which it isn't0
