Disability and working tax credits

Hi, wondered if anyone could help. We've recently made a claim but I'm not sure if we're missing out on any payments. My husband works and we're claiming working tax credits as a married couple. I don't work but receive SDA and DLA. There didn't seem to be anywhere for this information on the claim form as it only seemed to want to know if the worker receives any of these, so we didn't put it on. Should we have made it clear that I am disabled and am in receipt of these benefits? If it makes a difference I would get in touch but I've spoken to someone on the phone about a mistake made elsewhere in our claim and don't want to repeat the experience if I don't need to!
Would appreciate if anyone could help clear this up, thanks.

As BB says, there is a question about this on the form for partner's of the main claimant even if they are not working.

It depends on what rate of DLA you get.

  • Hi, thanks for your replies. I have the middle rate care component and so I suppose this means we don't qualify for extra help. I do remember seeing this info. but have to admit feeling a bit overwhelmed by the forms!
    Thanks again.
