Hi,
I put an initial complaint about PPI on my Nat west Gold Credit card and the bank said because I signed the section about PPI that it was my fault. I explained that I signed all the sections that the assistant in the bank told me I needed to sign in order to get the card and that the assistant told me the only charge would be the annual card fee but they said their assistants would have explained each section but this was certainly not the case. The whole process only took 5 to 10 minutes so they couldn't have really explained everything could they? The biggest problem is that because of my long hours of work, my partner has always taken care of all the financials in my house, because it worked that way, and she never realised that I never agreed to PPI. The bank refuses to believe this. Is there a chance they are calling my bluff or are they correct. I have honestly never seen one of my statements until a couple of months ago and that's when I realised but the bank refuses to believe this as well.

You are making an allegation of wrongdoing. They can find no evidence to support your allegation. What evidence can you supply them to support your allegations? The whole process only took 5 to 10 minutes so they couldn't have really explained everything could they?
We were not there and cannot say whether it took 5 to 10 minutes. Nor can the complaint handler or anyone else looking at the evidence available. The biggest problem is that because of my long hours of work, my partner has always taken care of all the financials in my house, because it worked that way, and she never realised that I never agreed to PPI. Yet you say you went into the branch to apply for it. Plus, what happened to every statement that detailed the PPi being paid?s there a chance they are calling my bluff or are they correct.
Your complaint is about as weak as they get. It is a hearsay allegation that cannot be proven. Most complaints no the basis of heresay are rejected on that point due to lack of evidence. However, the bank is required to check suitability of the product for your needs and many complaints go on to be upheld on that basis. Have the bank mentioned anything in the rejection about you being eligible for cover or it being suitable for you?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
