Received a charge notice from CP Plus regarding a company vehicle they stated was parked up at a Moto site from 8.30am until 5pm.
The letter states as we have broken their terms and conditions, a fee of £100 is payable but they very kindly will accept REDUCED FEE OF £50 if received within 14 days.
Below, is correspondence I sent to them:
With regards to the above notice, having checked through the drivers proof of deliveries and our tracking system, we can confirm that the above vehicle was not parked on your clients property for the duration stated on the received notice.
If you wish to receive detailed copies of our tracking reports which provide updates every 2 minutes of the vehicles movements, please confirm that you would like to receive a copy. There is a one off documentation fee of £125.00 and you will be required to sign a copy of our Data Protection Policy.
Payment can be made by card, cheque or bank transfer.
Please note, we do not accept further correspondence regarding the above matter by post and if we do not receive a response by close of business today, we will consider the matter closed. Any correspondence received that requires a response after close of business today will incur a fee of £50.00.
Let's see their response!!

Funny, class, good reply. I agree.
However, it could be argued it is not an appeal per se and you might lose your POPLA code chance.
Now I think it should be interpreted as an appeal but if they don't issue a code and it gets to court, would a judge look favourably at your demand for £125 to enable the PPC resolve the dispute? Of course, if you actually can prove your vehicle was elsewhere you have no problem, even putting aside that all such charges are uncollectable.0 -

It was definitely an appeal, a straightforward denial of the claim. My guess is that it was a double dip incident. I think that the only thing is that the demand for it to be dealt with on the day would be held to be unreasonable - giving them a few days would have made it far easier to win a small claim.
It shouldn't need a POPLA code and the nature of the letter is a good test to see if there is any intelligence at the other end or a minimum wage grunt who is told to send out standard letters regardless.0 -
I received an automatic response saying I should expect a reply within 35 days.
I managed to find an email address for a departmental head and forwarded my original email to him. I informed him that I would like the issue to be dealt with swiftly and that I found it very strange that a company that is more than willing to send unsolicited invoices is not so willing to discuss the issue over the telephone ( the number given to contact them is in fact an automated message advising how to pay or where to write to dispute the charge.)
I also advised him that a HGV pulling into motorway services twice in a day to refuel was not uncommon and that refuelling twice in a day does not constitute parking.
I received a response from the contact there, who said that he doesn't deal with appeals but would look into it for me.
In this morning's post, a letter from CP Plus.
With reference to the PN issued to the above vehicle, after reviewing our data and in view of the representations made in connection with its issue, we have decided to cancel this notice and no further action is to be taken.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused.0
