Bank account for bills

Hi all,
Me and my partner have just put in an application for a flat, which has been accepted by the landlord. As such, I'm looking to arrange for us to have a bank account in which we put so much a month into for rent/bills/council tax, etc.
I have to admit though, I am totally stumped on who to go with or where to go. It might sound really dense but when I'm looking at the current accounts I just can't get my head around what this or that bank account does.
I'm currently with Nationwide; I don't particularly want to have a joint bank account with my partner, as his credit rating isn't so great so certain things that we're looking at getting like Sky might be a problem for him to get.
I'm basically overwhelmed by everything out there, so if there's any chance any one can give me an idea of how they go about sharing bills that would be great. Thanks! :j

If you trust each other enough to have a joint account but dont want the financial association then why not just set up a basic account with anyone in just your name? Given your already with Nationwide so done all the KYC checks it may as well be them0

First post in 5 years when you opened the user account?
See the advice I gave in this thread yesterday to the brand new user that is still on the front page

Without a doubt - Santander 123.
In-credit interest on balances over £1,000 and pays cashback on bills.
Even with the £2 monthly fee I make more than the £5 monthly Halifax Reward bonus. I don't pay gas, council tax or any mortgage payments, so potential to make more as well. What will your verse be?

Nothing really stopping you doing both, a 123 and a Halifax Reward.0
