Understand gas bill

I moved our supplier last year to EDF and moved to dual fuel blue price promise. My Gas bill checking it this morning though for the last month was £69.62 including standing charges etc.


I am sure before my bills were not this high for gas. I used 153 units of gas in that month and they worked it out as 1699kwh at 3.509p. I just don't understand surely it should be 1530KWH as that is how many units I have used. If anyone can shed any light on the calculations for this or is this something that should be raised with EDF?

If you have a meter reading in cubic metres of gas (check the front of the meter) then a rough conversion from cu m to Kwh is 11.2 -this agrees with what you have been billed.

153 metric meter units (cu m), is approx 1,738kWh-so not clear where you get 1,530kWh from?. Either way, you're still slightly underbilled at 1,699kWh. That's about £59.61, plus VAT and standing charges etc. So £69 seems quite corect.
