Takeaways whilst studying are awful. You'll never find students eating takeaways.

Any success stories against ikea and how it was achieved?

    Yes!!

My wife wanted some tea lights so I went all the way to the Croydon store. Bought some. Went home. Got lucky :D

The joy of IKEA kitchens is that when they arrive, they can be easily stored for a few days until the fitters can come out to fit it.

The sensible thing to have done would have been to swap to another sink and push for a bit of discount off a new sink for the inconvenience. I'd say you knew you were potentially pushing for trouble when they said there was only 1 left in the country...

I mean, yes, you have been messed around, but it doesn't feel like you've done much to mitigate the situation, especially if having no kitchen was such a fuss to you. The kitchen fitters are working for YOU. You should have instructed to go ahead without the sink and fit the other bits first.

I have just been reading about your misfortune with IKEA.If you have had to take extra time off work as a result of the company not delivering as promised you are legally allowed to claim for the loss of earnings. You need to point this out to IKEA if you haven't already done so.

    Hope this helps

  • I know this is easy to say in hindsight however why didnt you just go for the new Ikea kitchen range? The savings to buy the old cabinets was minimal (I have just had a new Ikea kitchen installed by a friend who fits kitchens) and at least you know you can get the parts for it.

I dont understand why a sink would hold things up either. A new range sink would have fitted just the same - they sit in the worktop and theres nothing exclusive about the cabinet frames that you couldnt use any sink, even a non Ikea one.

Could you not have purchased another sink, from somewhere else?
