I'm not sure I got "The Prisoner" myself. It was a kind of a spinoff of a series called Danger Man where McGoohan played a secret agent called John Drake. In one episode he infiltrates a fake English town in the Soviet Union where they train spies to "fit in" in the West.

In the Prisoner series he resigns and is sent to a surreal secret village for retired spies where they try to crack him. He doesn't know who he's up against and who's in charge but he's always trying to break out or lead others to rebel.

It clearly has elements of 1984 about it. It was an absolute treat to watch. The closing episode is very weird.:D
I loved Patrick in Danger man, he was such an enigmatic character, but The prisoner just messed with my head :-)

Supercasino TCB paid £50 odd for £20 investment, lost on black, shoulda put it on red.
Saw this earlier, TCB only paying out £35 but Quidco paying £50.
Had a nice hour playing my £20, and won quite often, I have £45 coming back into my account. Wish I earned £25 an hour in real life.
Im sad to say I introduced a friend to playing like we have, just betting the minimum and getting the cash back, and if you won great, if not you are still quids in.
However no one knew she got hooked, a couple of big wins and Im sorry to say she has lost everything. Its so sad, and Im sorry I ever told her about it, and blamed myself for a long time.
She has stopped and is in recovery, but its a slippery slope if you are so inclined.
Love your Mum, you'll never get another one when she's gone.
