If you use coke you will pour it down the drain when cooked
when you use water you will have a stock left over for soup
and you can have a glass of coke to go with it

coke will just pull the goodness out of the pork think how it cleans a 2p as its made from distilled water
totally agree with you. I did it with coke last weekend but really should have just done water as i make loads of soups and always need a stock. Pea and ham soup is ideal for leftovers :D

tigerwhite;65023327]That's what I thought. But A.com is now showing the correct price so I doubt it would now.

How much coke would you use? Diet or full sugar?

I'm no expert but tend to put enough in to just about cover the piece of gammon and whatever coke I've got (except for the ones with flavours - not tried any of them), if it's gone a bit flat it doesn't matter either.

I use diet or pepsi max, add onion, garlic and I use some ginger in it too. cover it and cook slowly, turn it once if using a pan or it will stick to the bottom. After its cooked reduce the stock, makes a lovely gravy.
I use the same recipe with chicken.
