Having a small problem with my washing machine. It is making a lot of noise when spinning and the drum seems loose. Any ideas? It is a Zanussi Essentials machine.

Unsure what's happened here. Weetabix bars are on 2 for £3. Think this person has just added a Special K which has picked up the 2 for £3 instead.
    However still a good comparison v T

    1 x Weetabix Breakfast Biscuits Fruit & Fibre (5x50g) £2.18 £1.14
    1 x Weetabix Breakfast Biscuits Apple Cinnamon (5x50g) £1.50 £1.14
    1 x Kellogg's Special K Dark Chocolate Chewy Delight (... £1.50 £1.99

If a washing machine is rumbling, and very noisy on spin, the main suspect is the drum bearings. Drum bearing failure is common on many washing machines due to water getting into them if the drum bearing seal fails. (Hotpoint and Zanussi in particular in my experience) To check for drum bearing failure you can take the belt off and spin the drum by hand. If the drum rumbles when spun then the bearings may have gone. There should be a constant rumble all the time the drum is revolving.

Another drum bearing failure symptom is excessive up and down play in the drum which can be checked for by lifting the drum up and down from the drum lip behind the door seal. A further symptom of drum bearing failure can be a brown rust patch underneath the washing machine and down the back of the outer drum, underneath the drum pulley (where the belt goes) although this patch is not always present. There are usually two small holes at the back of the drum bearings where water that has got past the drum bearing seal trickles out, and it's usually stained with grease and rust if water has got into the bearings.

    Does this help?:):)

Sounds like it could be bearings.

If you or someone else does attempt the job of changing them, not too difficult if the back come off, remember the nut for removing the drum may well be reverse thread. This was a few years back but I 'mentioned' this could be a possibility to an ex BF who had been struggling to remove above mentioned nut on his machine for about 20 mins. (I had thought this a possibility after about 5 mins, but kept my mouth shut, coz 'what would a woman know.) ;)
He wasn't particularly happy when it came off so easily by turning clockwise!
No wonder it wasn't much longer after that he became my ex. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
