Car parts - cheapest?
I needed to get a part for my VW. For most things my default place to look is Ebay and sure enough the part was available there from various breakers for £18 for a used item.
I needed to go to the main dealer tomorrow so thought I'd do a quick check on price with them as I could pick up while I was there. Amazingly the same part brand new from VW is only £15.
So £18 used from Ebay or £15 for new from VW! Worth bearing in mind that main dealers are not always the most expensive option so worth checking!

You need to be careful with eBay. When I was restoring a Series 2 Land Rover, I saw many s/h parts advertised on eBay as 'rare' (with a corresponding high price) which were actually available new from suppliers such as Paddock Spares at lower prices. In some cases much lower.

Happens a lot. People assume its used on ebay so must be a bargain.
Trim clips and smaller parts can be had from the dealers at quite a saving. Also worth checking out to see if another make have the same part.
Seat/VW/Skoda share many parts. So you may goto a VW dealer who want £100 then goto Seat or Skoda and find they will supply the same part for much less. And may even be stamped VW.
I can get my Ford Mondeo parts from Jaguar for less money than a Ford dealer. £39 for a thermostat from Ford. £24 from Jaguar and its stamped Ford. Engine roll mount £86 from Ford, £43 from Jaguar and again stamped Ford.
Focus heated washer jets £18 used on ebay or £3.99 each from Ford (delivered).Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
