jsa help ??!!! work help what to do?

to cut a long story short both me and my hubby worked for the family business work dried up pretty much over night so we was left jobless, i am 6 months pregeant i have applied for matnertiy allowance as i cant get a job i have tried the last 4 weeks but people take one look at me and say no as i will be off in 11 weeks giving birth.
Anyway my hubby was claiming jsa he got offered a temp peace job poting plants but it has crippled him in two days in he can hardly walk never mind work, what do i do he signed of jsa to start work but he cant work now can he claim again?
he is going to train as a hgv driver to work for his dad but we need money while he trains as we have a mortage to pay
any help would be great
we have both worked all our lives and this is the first time we have every claimed

    Hi you can't get maternity allowance until you're 29 weeks pregnant, so that's a no go until you get there. Is your pregnancy causing any problems with your health if so go and get your signed off from work and then you can go on ESA if not you're on JSA until you get to 29 weeks. Have you got enough contributions for MA, have you checked yet? Even if you are the amount you will get depends upon what you've earnt. I would get the forms sent off and the entitlement checked.
    Did your husband walk out of the job? If so he cannot go back on JSA without facing a sanction, however if he gets another temporary job (which comes to a natural end rather than him leaving) or goes on ESA before going back on JSA he will avoid the sanction. However I have to agree with the other poster if he can do a HGV course then he's fit for work, even if he's not fit for that particular job so he may struggle
