Installing Polish language on a Blackberry

I bought a Blackberry 9300 on Ebay. It's English by default and has a small selection of languages available, but not Polish. I wish to set up the phone in Polish for a friend, does anyone know an easy way to do it?

I installed Blackberry Desktop Manager from the Polish site to my laptop and that installed fine, and the Blackberry connected okay. While the Desktop Manager is all in Polish, the phone is still in English. Websites I looked at state that languages can be downloaded from the Applications tab, but there are no languages shown in there.

Surely it shouldn't be this difficult?!

You need Multilanguage software for the phone, not the Desktop Manager.

To be found here if not already installed.

Install the phone software to the PC and then use the Desktop Manager(the English one will do :) ).

    Example here

Thanks for this. I did stumble across that earlier, but wasn't sure which link I could use on there. For example T-Mobile Poland gives a list of devices which does not include the 9300. I'll have another look tomorrow to try to figure it out.

You don't need to install a Polish version. You can use one from the UK. It should be a Multi-language version.

I've tried for ages, but still no luck.

I have downloaded Blackberry Desktop Manager and BlackBerry Handheld Software v6.0.0.2534 (Multilanguage) from 3-UK. I also tried one from Play Poland. I installed them but when I run Desktop Manager there is nothing to do with languages anywhere.

In the applications menu it just shows Wireless Music Sync and that's it.

The guidance states the following, but where is the Language and Input Support section?

    1. Select Applications.
    2. In the Language and Input Support section, select the language to be added to the BlackBerry smartphone (a + will appear next to the language to install)

Go to poland and buy one

    Simples....

The cheapest Blackberry I could find in Poland was £140.

I just ordered one for £54 off Ebay. I got the seller to switch it to Polish before posting it, so that's sorted. :)

Maybe a stupid question, but is the phone connected and detected by the desktop manager when you try?

It was connected and detected by Desktop Manager, yes.

Fortunately as the Ebay seller had assured me before I bought it that it would work in Polish, he is accepting it back and will issue a refund so all I've lost is a few pounds postage.
