back in march i bought three sandisk 2gb micro sd cards for my kids samsung e900 phones 1 of them knackered last week nothing will recognise it and now another one has stopped they were being used in separate phones..
i bought online at a place i've used before so when i emailed them querying the problem i have , their reply was here is sandisk's technical helpline no.
i thought my gaurantee was with the person/place i bought from not the makers/manufacterer am i right or am i wrong is there anywhere ie a site given a read out of laws re:- gaurantee etc...

What did your email to them say?0

I'm not sure who it is with, but have you tried to ring Sandisk to see what they say? If not, why not?
As long as someone replaces it, does it really matter who it is?

They are not saying that its against your guarantee though. When ever you buy something and it goes faulty, the seller will refer you to the manufacter.
This is because it may be a fault that they know about- if they cant help you, then via the seller you can arrange for a replacement.
This is common practice so dont be put off by any means0 -
Also, I was looking online for some extra memory for my phone - there were some fantastic looking deals on Ebay - my OH luckily stopped me spending £20 on a 4GB Sony Duo memory stick, telling me that something like 98% of memory sticks sold on Ebay are fake. The guy had nearly 100% approval rating but looking at his neg feedback he's sold fakes before.

The above link is on Sony memory sticks but it's applicable to all brands.
I went and paid £35 for one on Play.com - an extra £15 but sometimes it pays to pay more and be sure you have the genuine article.
Are you sure you paid for a genuine memory stick? Perhaps this is why they are playing up.Got £820 back from HSBC! Now entering comps like mad with the hope of winning a nice long holiday....0 -

It may be common practice but the LEGAL responsibility to sort out problems like this lies with the RETAILER and not the manufacturer.0 -

You can fairly safely assume they must have an understanding with the company then.If unsure, email that company first to make sure you are all on the same wavelength, (and not open up a can of worms),otherwise see Barvids answer.0
