buying used car where to look and what to look at

so its been a long while since i looked for a used car but i have £7500 and a 2007 1.4 citreon coupe to get a used one

i have tried autotrade, gumtree and ebay is there most people look ?

also through looking i notice there are so manay options so looking for recommendation my main points are

i want something not too big probable similar size to what i have now maybe a little smaller
good mpg (as i do all motorway miles 300 miles per week)
low millage (ideally as low as possible as im going to have car atleast 5 years)
a few media options i.e aux in and usb
something that is very relible

any help is really appreciated

    You have the choice of hundreds of cars. You can get a brand new Dacia for what you have although a stereo will be an extra.

    Cheap enough to fit your own though.

    Besides the places you mentioned try local dealers. No idea if they are still available but exchange and mart? My local supermarket used to have some free mags in a similar fashion to the autotrader but much thinner and mostly adverts from dealers.

    But they did turn up a bargain or two. Going back a few years now but £295 for a Montego estate, Taxed and MOT'd. Sounded too cheap.
    Despite the obvious fresh paintwork, Whole car had had a quick blow over. Looked way too shiny.

    It was a good car, Except the rusty tailgate. Which slowly fell to pieces over the years i had it. I sold it to a mate that patched it up and he later sold it to another mate who got at least another 4 years from it. Rust eventually killed it, But that engine was mint.
