my daughter was in a car accident last week she has sustained various soft tissue injuries etc etc as has her boyfriend and their friend the other person admitted fault and she has had confirmation from other insurance admitting liability
what should she do regarding the injuries though
she has had to take time of work is without a car etc etc

Has she (or the driver if not her) reported the incident to their insurance company?0

If the TPI has accepted liability then deal with them directly for vehicle repairs/ write off and a replacement car whilst its being done.
For injuries, if she has Legal Expenses on her own insurance then they'll appoint a solicitor deal with it, you could deal direct with the TPI but most would consider that contentious or you can find an solicitor on a no win no fee basis.0 -
yes its been reported to her own and the at fault drivers insurers
they are arranging a courtesy car on the at fault's insurance as she wasnt covered on her own i am waiting to see if she had legal cover she has had to go in work although my opinion is she needed another few days off she is very sore and in pain but no cover at work etc
will update when i find if she had legal cover
where would she get a no win no fee solicitor that was any good... yellow pages etc
thanks guysSave 12k in 2015 member 187. £62.50/60000 -
Most solicitors offer it and just find a good local firm whos has one of the Personal Injury accreditations http://www.lawsociety.org.uk/accreditation/specialist-schemes/personal-injury/
Remember that it is no win no fee not simply no fee. Solicitors can now keep up to 25% of the award if they are successful so may be worth shopping arround for one with a level that you are happy with - most are 20-25% though0 -
thank you
she doesnt have legal cover btw but will get her looking nowSave 12k in 2015 member 187. £62.50/60000 -
And tell her not to go back to work against medical advice as it could affect her claim.0

She has three years in which to make a claim so why not wait until she has recovered?0

This depends on whether the firm is using a DBA or a CFA. Whilst the winners fee both come out of the award of damages, the percentage limits differ depending on which agreement is used.
Also, no win no fee doesn't really mean no fee, there are some fees that the client is always liable for.
The courts are also clamping down on whiplash claims, especially where there is no actual medical evidence, so make sure your daughter goes to the doctor (if she hasn't already) and get the injuries documented.0 -
Luckily it's a competitive world out there and there are many firms that will settle for less than the 25% and more than a few that let you keep all *your* compensation https://www.google.co.uk/#cr=countryUK|countryGB&q=personal+injury+lawyer+n o+deduction&tbs=ctr:countryUK|countryGB0

Ye, these are usually the companies that get you a couple grand compensation and charge the insurer 3x that in legal fees! No better than slimeball claims management companies!0
