MacDonalds/Met Parking - slightly different case

Hi all,
I was due to pay my £50 fine until I read the shear volume of people on here (including the watchdog clip) saying just to ignore them and they'll go away - which of course I'm all for!
My concern is this, I think I'm a bit more guilty than most of the cases that I've read. The mcd's in question shares a cark park with a KFC but there is a dotted line and 2 small signs (I know this all too well now!) that separates the mcd's area from the rest. I parked in the mcd's area and went and had my lunch in KFC - the dirty little Met man was lurking under the eaves and I reckon he ticketed my van within 2 mins of be walking out of sight. My only defence is that the signs were small and low, it was raining and I was looking out for pedestrians/somewhere to park etc etc. The guy ticked the 'other' box and wrote "not in mcdonalds restaurant"
Because I did actually park in the wrong place, I can't help feeling I'll be Met's first successful court case because I am actually guilty of something??
Any advice much appreciated,
Thanks

Your case is no different, they are trying to extort you and have no basis for doing so. Simply follow the guides on the Parking ticket forum and you won't get your wallet emptied.0

The advice to ignore these private parking penalties (actually they are merely invoices, not penalties) has changed somewhat recently owing to new legislation. The parking sub-board here will help you.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0

Have a read of the newbies thread.
The advice is no longer, and has not been for some considerable time, to ignore (if in England or Wales)
What exactly do you think you are guilty of?0 -

Of course that's what they'll say if you decide to cherry pick what you read and pay no attention whatsoever as to when that particular advice was valid for.
Now get over to the parking board, read the 'Newbies' thread at the top of the page and then think again how you might want to approach this.0 -
Should have gone in after seeing the ticket and bought a coke then appealed

Too late now though0
