You sound like you share a very loving and supportive relationship with your OH, that, to me, is worth a million houses (and more).

How on earth have you hindered your future? As someone quite rightly said, owning your own home is not the be-all and end-all of life. Older generations see owning your own home as a mark of acheivement and success but times have changed and so have attitudes.

You have something that some people (who could own a whole town of houses) spend their whole life looking for.....a happy OH, healthy child, mutual respect and love. You are very lucky indeed :D

    Hi,
I know people aspire to owning there own property, and in the past, when prices were down, and affordable, I would of said fine, go for it, but how on earth anyone can afford to buy a house today I just don't know, with an average price of £185.000 that's around 2 grand a month in repayments

where do people get it from ???
Unless you earn more than 40 grand a year you are stuffed, and the fact is most jobs today pay the min wage or a bit more, to me its just an impossible dream in this day and age.
If you bought a house for £180,000 with a 10% deposit you would be looking at repayments of about £900!
