Previous 'fuel premonitions' e.g. 5p when you spend £50.00 last for about four weeks at most - this one is on-going for six-months,

You don't have to spend £50.00 all in one go, even spending 0.50 on your paper every day (as long as you scan your CC) will add to the multiple of £50.00.

You don't have only two weeks to use your 5p coupon, the accumulated figure lasts to the end of the following month.

You can't lose your coupon, your CC gives you access.

A word of warning, another member of the family who has a spare key fob card also has access!

  • Hi.

Does anyone know if the Visa cards can be used to pay for Nsandi premium bonds?

    Thanks

I'm currently at 16p off per litre, which expires end of April. I'll see if I can get to the 20p limit before I use it. Should save me about £9 on a 'tankfull' when I use it.

I am confused! How often can you cash the discount in?
When I bought petrol last week, I was asked if I wanted to use my 4p per litre discount which I had accumulated. I said yes, not really thinking about it.
As we do most of our shopping at Tesco, would I have been better off saving it until the end of the month, by which time I will have spent more, or will my subsequent shopping contribute to another discount next time I fill up? TIA

Your subsequent shopping will continue to accumulate pennies off fuel.

I've already used 10p/l off from my March spending, should have another 10p by end of March (don't ask!) which I can use during April.

Still struggling with the maths - does it make any difference if I use the discount in smaller amounts as I go along, or save it all up and use it all at once?

It just depends how often you fill up!? And IMHO you get the most benefit from near empty. So if you do a lot of mileage and fill up more than once a month - no won't matter.
But only one 'fill-up' a month you need to use it all.

That is what you spent in Feb, is available to use by the end of March, and what you spend in March you can use in April

I filled up yesterday, and could use the 8p off for March, but not the 4p off for April.

You'll really benefit by checking the prices of the groceries you're buying against other stores, instead of blindly buying from one store to save a few pence on their petrol...

Don't the shops do that for you, and print it on the receipt?

On selected items, yes they do. Tesco, for example, can charge whatever they like for their own brand stuff, cos no one else sells it! I think there are minimum spends for the comparisons to happen too. You can always trust that the supermarkets are looking afer you, rather than trying to get a profit out of you, if you like...
