Hi
i have started potentially 2 business within 4 months. As you guess im 17 and im a college student. 1 business is a mobile ad network. I have coded the whole system myself but how do i get people interested? for a while i have been looking for people that would integrate my network into their mobile apps. but no good results. I dont know where too look. To learn more i have setup a forum. this is my 2 business. I have made it so people can help me and i help people learning about business.
How do i get interested in me an my products? im young and full of ideas how do i change them into reality?

Please remove the website, as you're not allowed to advertise.

Start by speaking with some local companies that maybe advertise online (not the big chains, but the smaller ones), build your reputation locally, and go from there.

Get some business cards printed up, and off you go with trying.

If you need CC facilities and someone is interested (ask for payment upfront to start), then iZettle should work for you, as it's cheap to set up and you only pay for what you use.

    Good luck!

    Sorry for the link :(

im planning to do that. The issue is more about getting people signed up. I had many advertisers already offer me money to advertise on my network. the issue is that i have no where to to distribute the advertisements. This is a mobile ad network so things are must trickier compared to traditional networks.
    Thanks

Could you set something to rival SAT lite?

I think you can set Facebook and Twitter up for mobile ads, so if you could set that to reach a target market, you may be able to get some mid-term income.

You're looking at a 5-10% margin (so take in £1, spend 90-95p) through this, but if you can build up the marketing tools, it may be a good plan to work on a multi-platform level.

We've done this on Facebook for a number of years now, and are starting to explore with Twitter (we're a record label), but to work mobile-only, whilst this could be a specialism, is not going to be ideal for any business, as they want a one-stop shop.

QR codes placed in physical locations could be the other thing to code, maybe to view menu in cafe, for example, but this would be a one-off £50-100 for design, maybe.

I really feel like I am kicking a puppy, but you know that launching an advertising network online you're competing against Google (with a market capitalization of 390bn), facebook and a few other companies all of whom have multi-billion pound capitalisation?

It's a hard business to survive in. I've seen multimillion pound businesses come and fail.

How are you going to tackle things like click fraud, deciding how and who to display adverts to, paying vendors, getting people to advertise? How will you deal with taxation and legal liability - for example, advertising gambling in the US may very well be a crime - and that's just for starters.

There are lots of businesses someone who is 17 years old can start up, but this business sounds like it is too ambitious.
