New single claim

Hi
Can anyone offer any advice please?
I separated from my partner on 17 Feb and informed the Tax Credits office on 3 March so they cancelled our joint claim and took the details of my single one over the phone.
I'm a little confused as they provided me with an estimate over the phone as being entitled to £232 per week (inc child care) yet I received my first payment today of £505. Will they not have backdated to the date my joint claim ended on 17th and my single one begun? I'm just fretting in case the £505 figure is the new monthly payment.
Thanks in advance.

Thank you for your response, I appreciate it.
I asked for it four weekly so figured I should have been due three weeks payments this week - or is that not how it works?
Thanks again0 -
