We don't often have a pudding unless it's a sepcial occassion. Sometimes I will do a crumble or something on a Sunday but this is quite rare - although I might start doing something for a sunday again :)

We usually have a cup of tea in the week with a biscuit or a couple of sweets we still have left from Christmas or we have been having a tin of fruit between the two of us.

When I was still living with my parents we never really used to have pudding but my boyfriend's family quite often do, so we have found a happy medium for us both now we live together, by occassional pudding and then biscuit with a tea.
Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:

Yes, usually we do, unless we've had a particularly large main course. I generally try to keep our main course modest, then we have a "time-out", and have our pud half an hour or an hour later.

I often make a fruit crumble or sometimes fruit pie, which does the two of us for 4 days, and I make a bit of custard to go with it; or fruit in jelly (I get veggie jelly crystals, which are quite expensive, so this isn't often) and once a month, when DH has been to the farmers market and bought unpasteurised cream, I make choccie mousse, which does us for two days. This uses up the cream while it's in date, which for unpasteurised is important; there's always a bit left over when I've made our usual quiche, so the mousse is a good way to use it up. If we have lots of bananas to use we'll have banana split. In summer I make ice cream, which we have as pud. Tonight we're having "Xmas" pud - I made four back in the autumn, to last us through the winter, as we don't think they should only be eaten at Yuletide - each one does the two of us four servings.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • Since I have become diabetic I rarely do a pudding and if I make one it is on high days and holidays. But saying that I have home grown strawberries, raspberries, cherries and blueberries every night in the Summer :D

Very rarely do we have a dessert unless we have visitors, or perhaps soft fruit from the garden in summer. Do be careful, if you have children that you're not loading them (or yourselves) with too many calories. Obesity is becoming a major problem in this country and it can creep up on us very imperceptively through the wrong dietary habits, especially for those who love cooking or baking. .

I don't have a sweet tooth, so I genuinely forget about pudding - even if there is one, I'm likely to forget to get it out when the time comes!! As a result, we generally have yogurt or cheese and biscuits, or maybe fresh fruit and ice cream (if I remember to prepare it).

When we have visitors I have to make a conscious effort to remember to give them pudding!!

When I'm on my own I don't bother at all, although I might have a yogurt or fruit for a mid-evening snack.

Only on Sundays and special occasions. When our kids were small they had yoghurt, ice cream or a fun size choc bar. They were always allowed to help themselves to fruit any time of the Amy if they were peckish.
  • When our children were at home I always made a pudding of some sort for afters. Now it's just DH and I we try to be good and have a bowl of sugar-free jelly, fruit and a good dollop of fat-free vanilla yogurt. But I always keep a stock of individual crumble servings, fruit pie portions and squares of treacle sponge in the freezer for when we fancy a treat or when the DGD's are here for tea. They expect a pud here but don't get one at home, just yogurt!

We only have a pudding at Chrismas or a birthday now. We used to have them a few times a week but our weight really piled on. Now if we get hungry later in the evening we have a bit of fruit.
