Another gimmick from this delusional government.

It will make no real difference and how many people even know what a QR code is? The elderly and vulnerable?

I really should run for PM.

As has been said, it sounds like another gimmick. Perhaps people should be educated in how to understand their bills. Talk about spoon feeding! Also don't forget that everything extra the suppliers are asked to do usually costs extra.

It's not exactly difficult to compare energy tarrifs. They only ask for about 4 pieces of data.

Now if they were to do this for car insurance prices, that would be a different story.

QR codes ??? Who is coming up with theses ideas, old people trying to sound hip???

Sounds like a plan developed by people who are completely out of touch. No one uses them. They have a terrible response rate.

despite all the evidence showing that QR codes on bills would make a real difference to people, energy companies still haven't done anything about it.
Because of all the evidence, surely?
Does Ed Davey really think that companies are going to do stuff that makes it more likely for their customers to switch to a competitor?

I agree with the general tenor of replies so far.

Someone I know was faced with the prospect of seeing the gas bill go up by about 40% due to the government stirring things up in the last few months.

She doesn't have a mobile phone.

    Self-deluding nonsense, Mr Davey.
