PE are allowed to claim solicitor costs if an in-hose solicitor does the work. The first problem is that she does not do £50 worth of work because the claims are all computer generated and there is not enough time in the day for her to spend more than 2 minutes a case; hardly justifying £50.
The second problem is that her costs are already included in their average £53 per ticket, so they are charging twice.
(The 3rd problem is that their allowable costs are £5-£10 per issued ticket, not £53, but that is an aside)Dedicated to driving up standards in parking0 -
Surely it is more effective to use a solicitor local to the area than have their own solicitor travel around the country. Also, do they not bring several cases in a day sometimes.
That £50 solicitors fee is for preparing the case before it goes to court. Not the cost of paying somebody to attend the court .What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
The only loss parking eye have is the money wasted bringing these cases to county court.
Even if they win them they are well out of pocket, they have to pay the agency of unemployable solicitors more than they gain just for starters.
Every case they lose and they are starting to pile up draws adverse publicity to them as people realise that they are actually a scam.
The Smart parking firms stay well away from court.Be happy...;)0 -
