HSBC Share Price - Where is it going?

That is true. The whole banking sector seems to be down. That is probably a symptom of the succession of scandals coming out from the banking industry. They are really going to have to get that act sorted out. At present it 's a drip drip feed of scandals.0

Why would they want to do that, the bonuses keep flowing so all is fine.
Root cause is obviously incompetent management, protecting employee returns at the expense of the owners of the business, ironic that in such a capitalist sector this should be the case. If this were manufacturing, mining etc then it would be very different.0 -
yes..my SC shares are further down in the past few days.
at the moment i am moving from one platform to another, so not trading...and i am ok with that, i think.. perhaps HSBC and the other banks are going to drop further, re. ForEx, so sitting, waiting, watching is the best thing to do.
at some point though, HSBC is going to be a good buy imo, and one that could be stashed away for the long-term, generating good dividends.0 -
Currently the price has risen to 604p. Sanity had to return at some point.0

maybe you are right, and that any buys below £6 are 'good value'.
one of the things with such large caps though...lots & lots of analysts poring over them. and lots of 'people in the know' too..0 -
You only have to look at the share price over the last year or more to see that anything under 600p is good value. My question was why it was so low? The factors which appear to be causing it are not as bad for HSBC as I would have thought.
... And the upsides of an excellent dividend and HSBC being a large and profitable bank should count for something.0
