A&L just rang me and offered me a balance transfer of cash to my current account interest free for 9 months with a 2.5% fee on my existing card. I asked them to ring me back on Monday, by which time my balance with them will be clear and I'll be free to take up that offer.
.. that would have to be a considerable balance to make much on it

It'll ony be about £4750, but I had planned to cancel the card so it might as well do something for me; it'll still be better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick. The cash is going be split between a new Abbey current acct at 8% and my existing Cov BS First acct at 6.1% (going tup to 6.35% once the base rate rise perculates through). I've also noticed I got the fee wrong; it'll be 2.25%, not 2.5%.
