  • You could try Facebook pages, they have a lot of independant small businesses with some quirky ideas.

https://www.facebook.com/personalisedperfection2013 have some Christening plaques with birth details on.

    Hope this helps

Maybe you don't have time but I've done embroidered pictures for a number of family babies incorporating the name and date of birth. Sort of like old fashioned samplers then framed.

You can buy kits or plan your own.
  • My daughter got a 100 year journal for her son that she is filling in and keeping for him until he is old enough to do so himself. Room for 4 entries per year with photos, info etc. Something for him to pass on to future generations and I'm sure you could have one embossed with her name.

Thank you very much for all the ideas, lots of stuff for me to check out. I'd rather get something with her name rather than an initial, as I know when I was a child I desperately wanted something with my name but it was too unusual so I never had anything, until my parents had a door plaque and a mug painted for me which I was delighted with. I rather like the idea of an Emma Bridgewater mug actually but will check out all the ideas/links. :)

I had a ragdoll made for my daughter from scraps taken off the bottom of my wedding dress. https://www.facebook.com/Dollsbearsandbunnies?fref=ts

Took from posting the fabric to them on monday to receiving the doll on friday! So a quick turnaround. I am pretty sure i have seen them embroider a name on something in the past. Never hurts to ask anyway.
  • There is a company who make personalised name prints - they are called Frame My Name. Both my kids had gifts from their web site and they looked great on their bedroom walls - nice & colourful...

    Good luck!
