Gearbox went on car bought 2 months ago

If that's a diesel that mileage is rather low. If petrol I'd still be suspicious. Just under 10k a year for the entire of it's life so it is a nice round 87k at 9 years old??
Try the vehicle check and the MOT info site on the DVLA to verify that mileage.
If you paid with a credit card or finance you might have more traction against the dealer but it is up to them to prove that the car was ok when they sold it. As the gearbox has failed completely within 2 months and under 1000 miles they'll have a tough job even if it was ok.0

Has anyone taken a dealer to court, or even just started the process, and had success?0
