Algae on Patio / Back Concrete Yard

Can anyone recommend anything good and reasonably priced for removing algae thats appearing on our patio / back concrete yard?

We power hosed it once but its a large area and i dont think it does the concrete much good, so this past couple of years i've been using Patio Magic

Definitely works and keeps it at bay for 4-6 months, but its taking a couple of tubs at a time (even with using a sprayer not a can)

Really would prefer something more cost effective?

So two tubs , cost is £36 ......every year.

As i said, every 4-6 months, and i'm paying £20+ a tub - amazon wont ship them to northern ireland.

So potentially 3 times a year, two tubs a time = £120 a year.

Yes I have a powerhose, takes the guts of a day to do each time, its a large yard, plus patio area. So thats 3 saturdays a year gone if i use the power hose.

Some areas of the concrete arent in A1 condition, so i am concious of not pulling any more of the surface off it.

Just looking for a cheaper good alternative to what im using?

Works out more expensive than what i'm using, and the reviews of it say it isnt great?

Good old-fashioned "plain ordinary" Jeyes fluid ? Cheaper than the "path & patio" version.

Either that or bleach solution - get the "value el-cheapo" stuff from Tesco, Asda, etc., about 20p for a litre bottle. Chuck about 1/4 of a bottle in a bucket of water to make a reasonably strong solution, brush it it and hose it off. Should kill the algae.

If you have a farmers supply retailer such as Mole Valley near you, get some hyperchlorite. its what is used in milking palours, use it diluted, cleans any organic growth, including black mould.
