So managed to get an offer on my house this weekend and an now starting to panic slightly that I won't find my 'dream house' to buy.
However , whilst trawling Rightmove for about the tenth time today , I decide to have a look at what rentals are on the market . Lo and behold there is a house which is exactly what I
Looking for and in the exact location I'd like to move to .
The house is being marketing by a letting agent rather than one one of the main estate agents , and I just wondered whether it worth ringing tomorrow to see if the owner would consider selling property rather than renting ?
Has anyone done this before with any success ? And do people think this is a bit out of order as in if they wanted to sell it they would . Oh and it's definatly not been on the market as houses in the location it's in get snapped up v quickly !
Thanks

you won't know until you ask
anyone else's experiences are irrelevant since they were not approaching your owner who is their own person and will make up their own mind0 -
I have heard of this happening. But if the agent is purely a letting agent rather than an estate agent they might not be able to handle the sale (and therefore would not be able to make money from it). Also they will be losing a regular income (assuming they also manage the property).
Its always worth a phone call, nothing ventured nothing gained. The worst they can do is say "no".0 -
Thanks and very true re everyone's circumstances being different.
Guess it's only a quick telephone call and as the saying goes ' you re got to be in it to win it '
Thanks !0 -
i'm sure even a letting agent could find a way to cash in:)
let us know how it goes0 -
Well I would certainly at least have a try in your position.0
