Ok go make yourself a cup of tea and get comfy .......
On Monday in the afternoon school run I was waiting to join the roundabout when a big old Volvo drove straight into the back of me. I was completely unable to move my daughter seemed okay although it was quite hysterical an ambulance was called immediately. I passed out within a minute although was woken up swiftly. Cutting a long story short I now have two wedged vertebrae fractures muscles straining across my shoulders and neck and torn ligaments in my sacroiliac joint causing back pain and leg pain. My daughter very fortunately has got away with some back muscle strain and strain in the neck but being made of cast iron she's doing really well.
The problem is that we are due to go on holiday on 2 April at the moment I am bedbound and don't know anything until I go back to the fractures clinic in the week. I get up and move around once every hour to try and use the muscle damage little but this is not without real pain in the rest of me. We are due to go on a cruise where we are supposed to be visiting Pompeii and climbing Mount Vesuvius, do a cycling tour of Rome, a walking tour of Venice and several other things but between the injuries and the huge pile of meds I have to take there is no way this is going to happen
So against getting a few bars where does this family with my holiday insurance. Do I need to phone and inform them of things now increasing claimant cancel or do I wait until after the fractures clinic so I can still maybe get on the ship, is there any way I can claim for loss of enjoyment do you think? has anybody ever heard of this.
This is a long-awaited holiday and really gutted I'm not going to be the do these things with my family.
Has anyone ever had a similar situation what did you do?

haven't been in this situation but if Third party is deemed to be at fault their insurance will pay for all your uninsured losses such as this
you cant claim for loss of enjoyment but you can claim for the holiday money to be paid back to you and any other loss you inoccur0 -
Your insurance should pay out if you aren't well enough to go but you need to check on what effect that will have on your ability to claim from the other driver. You can't usually claim for things twice.0

Really need to see what you doctor says about travel. If your injuries are as bad as they sound, I can't imagine you being allowed to travel.
If he/she advises against travel then make a claim on your travel policy. Add any things such as travel excess to your uninsured loss claim.0 -
You can claim for loss of enjoyment although generally it falls in with the pain, suffering and loss of amenity (PSLA) damages and won't be worth a great deal.
You would be much better off cancelling the holiday as it sounds like you will be severely restricted in what you are likely to be able to do.0 -
If you aren't well enough to go, your insurance should cover cancellation for the whole family, so you can all go together when you're well.import this0
