Washing Up

I know this may sound strange. But at 41 years of age, I am struggling to get clean washing up.
I make sure the washing up bowl is clean and the water is as hot qs my hands can stand. I often use a new sponge and use just a squirt of washing up liquid.
But it still comes out greasy and dirty.
I think it might just be me.
Anyone any ideas.
Thanks in advance.
Yours
Calley

Even the first lot of pots?
What washing up liquid are you using,
Have another bowl of cold clean water and dip in to rinse, it may be liquid residue left on the pots.
Any room for a dishwasher lolmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

I am using Fairy.
I do wash up in the following order
Glass or cleanest items first then plates and pots and pans last. Changing water as needed.
I swill put and make sure there is not to much left on the plates. I might try the extra bowl of water first.
Need to buy another washing up bowl.
No room for a dish washer. Well maybe if they are 6ft tall and good looking I am sure that I can find some room to squeeze them in LOL!!!

Try more washing up liquid.
Sometimes I can get away with less but quite often I have to put a good quirt in to actually get the dishes clean. Not very OS, but cheaper/easier than having to do them again.0 -
i have a dishwasher but if I am washing pans etc that are particularly greasy I add to tbsp of soda crystals to the water along with washing up liquid
I use Fairy Platinum for washing dishes as think it is the best for cleaning0 -
I squirt washing-up liquid onto the sponge and get it foamy (is that a word?). I use that to scrub the dishes, and I then rinse them under running water. The water is really hot so I have to use marigolds.0

If I have really greasy items I add a glug of white vinegar to the bowl and I only ever use fairy washing up liquid, this works every time and I get squeaky clean dishes.Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Hiya, I use Fairy and hand wash too!
I start with putting the knifes, forks and spoons in the bottom of the hot soapy water and leave them to soak a wile. Next it is mugs and glasses.
Then plastic boxes. Love my boxes and use them a lot.
Next is plates and bowls..
Last is pans and cooking trays.
If it is the frying pan or tray with oil, I put extra Fairy directly on the pan. The extra soap will remove any grease.
I leave the hot tap running wile washing dishes and rinse under the running water.
Oh yes, i forget to say....
I use baking powder on a little plate. Dab up with the cloth to remove stains from mugs and tea spoons. Works well. The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0 -
I second the use a dash of vinegar to help cut through grease. I also very hot water - sometimes supplemented with water from the kettle (use the Marigolds!). If it's v greasy I will add washing up liquid direct to pan.
I've heard sterilising fluid is recommended for Tupperware every now and then. I need to try this with some of my plastic containers"Does it spark joy?" - Marie Kondo

I use Moaning Frish wul which I find pretty good, although I will move onto Magnum from Aldi when I have run out.
I'd start by giving the washing up bowl a good going over with cream cleanser and hot water, rinsing well. If there's a build-up of surface grease on that, it won't be helping.
Your order of wash and technique look fine to me, wonder if it's a case of not quite enough wul and residual greasiness in the bowl. HTH.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.
